Joseph Campbell Is a Start

Frege Nil
Battered, blistered and no longer certain of the infallable symmetry of logic; now with bright points of light bringing hope and hints of memories keeping the raft afloat. Was Hyderdahl right? The reeds are soggy but there are birds and fish, and in the end, of course, it may have been the land bridge after all. However, if you get ashore before you die, does it matter now? Is it so important? Is it better to pass on with head held proud in smug certainty of a haughty, emphemeral purity of mind and drown alone, or let go and feel the cushion of the soft, accepting sand and the warm sun on my face? That is the question. Is the answer certain? So, what is the face of God? Is it the manifestation of the question, "Is this all there is?" Is the light the moment, every moment of awareness? Are we all equally aware? Is the ultimate despair caught in the shocking loss of a lifetime of hard earned knowledge and emotion at the end of life, or the personal loss of participation by the one passing? Does it matter? All that matters is what I can know.
